research + writing

My research interests are gender, race, and geo-politics in contemporary art and digital media; information communication technologies in development; U.S. Latina/o and Latin American media studies; decolonial aesthetics and decolonial feminisms; comparative new media aesthetics; transnational feminism and media art; global social movements and digital media; media pedagogies and popular education; testimony, oral history, and digital archives. My research, writing, art making, and other forms of cultural production and action are intertwined, and my methods are inter-disciplinary, pulling from the fields of Internet studies; cinema and media studies; ethnic and gender studies; sociology; and feminist and decolonial philosophy.
